Interactive Installation and Durational Performance
Strange Loop Gallery NYC Jan 2014
A mint green monochromatic play space with costumes attached to the walls and ceilings inviting guests to wear their surroundings, creating an immersive mobile sculpture. In the middle of the gallery, a mint green sewing machine was stationed with a mic attached that distorted the sounds coming from the machine, creating abstract music. For 3 days, various pieces of mint green fabric were sewn into a long chain that was wrapped around the walls of the gallery and around every visitor, swallowing them up into the space.
Environmental Design
An old East Village theatre was transformed into the cosmic landscape of a fantasy alien planet. The space consisted of three parts. A space vortex lined with starlights on walls, floor, and ceilings multiplied by suspended trapezoidal mirrors, an alien jungle with neon, psychedelic flora, and a pink fleshy space cave with hanging stalactites and pink rock like cushions covering the floor.
Environmental Design
Interactive installation for Gawker Media’s 2014 holiday party. The space was made to look like a futuristic snow forest. The all white space featured an abstract tree sculpture with branches reaching in every direction. White fringe panels hang off the branches with projections of falling jewels in kaleidoscope patters. Later in the night the walls split and red balloons spill out piercing the all white space revealing a hidden red room.
